Actually extremely simple (though the compiles will take awhile on a slow machine for 'emerge'.) They take care of the dependencies for you. I've also heard synaptic is pretty powerful and useable across most Linux distros. Haven't used it yet. -- Free as in freedom Power as in empowerment .
