Thanks for the reply. You may have missed the details though. 1) I realize that the Orinoco support was already in my kernel. That is why I was so frustrated, (not that you could tell the frustration part). It turned out that my problem was with the *router* and not the card. But the point remains -- I did download and install the 0.15rc1 orinoco source 2) sound was working before the WLAN card fiasco. Now it works, but ONLY after I run system-config-soundcard.
