Hmm, does your list represent the "best", or just your opinion
of the "most popular"?

Folks who use GNOME, may disagree that "KDevelop" is the
"best" IDE.  What about "Anjuta", "Eclipse", etc, etc, etc???

Each person has their own needs/desires/preferences and
operating environment (hardware, OS, purpose, scope, etc).

Attempts to build a "best" list usually end up as a list
of items that the list author prefers, based on the author's
knowledge of the applications available - which may be but
a small fragment of the actual applications available.
