It is the Creative Labs Extigy. This is an external device that plugs into your computer via the USB port. It works on windows 2000 and NT without having to install any drivers. It works on knoppix without installing any drivers. It worked on Mandrake 10, And Debian (woody and sarge) without having to fool around with drivers. In my system, I have the KTV7A Pro with built-in sound. Winderz and Linux the internal sound card (automatically) and use it if the Extigy isn't plugged in. If the Extigy is plugged in, then they both use it instead. Pretty damned neet if you ask me. The only requirement is that you have powered speakers or an amp to hook it to. 125 Watt per Channel amp with 2 bose 301 and 2 Altec-Lansing floor speakers workds pretty nice for my setup. .
