Subj : Firefox/Thunderbird URL handling annoyance To : comp.os.linux From : R. P. Dillon Date : Fri Jul 16 2004 12:25 pm I've been using Firefox and Thunderbird for browsing and email/news, and they have been working beautifully for me (I wish Thunderbird supported Maildir, though). Anyway, I can't seem to fix this one annoyance: I managed to get thunderbird to load urls in Firefox instead of Konqueror (yes, I use KDE), but it downloads the file to /tmp, the open the /tmp/url.html in Firefox, instead of sending the url directly to Firefox to open live, on the net. As a result, the links are all dead, and I can't for the life of me figure out what chrome setting or prefs.js setting to use to fix this. It did it the same under Red Hat and Fedora Core 2 (laptop), then Debian (old desktop), and now Gentoo (new desktop). Anyone have any experience with this kind of thing? Thanks- .
