Subj : modconf died

Since a few days, whenever I try to run modconf, nothing happens; when I 
throw a random command-line parameter at it, this is it's response:
/usr/sbin/modconf: -e: command not found
/usr/sbin/modconf: write_it_down: command not found
It's version 0.2.43 found in Woody r2.

Any ideas?
