Subj : Re: how to change runlevel at start? To : comp.os.linux From : Micke Date : Tue Jul 13 2004 10:59 pm I've tried some of the ideas you people gave me, thank you all. The one I finally choosed is this: I put in runlevel 4 as initdefault in /etc/inittab. (I'm using slackware naturally) it worked nice and the kids can log in and shutdown the comp. after use. Wife and me can choose what we want. Tried first with putting startx in ~/.bash_profile and this worked nice to. When they logged in KDE came up but when loggin out they came back to the prompt without having a clue how to shut down. Putting shutdown -h now as the second line in ~/.bash_profile fixed that. After putting the shutdown command in /bin and giving everyone the right to run it. Thank you all again. Micke .
