Subj : upgrade to 2.6.x?

I'm currently running kernel 2.4.25-1-k7 on a Debian system.  I am wondering if
the 2.6.x kernel series is now stable enough for everyday use, and whether
I should upgrade to it.  2.6.7 is now available with apt-get, so it would
be an easy install.  What I want to know is:  Does the 2.6 series still have
major problems?  My machine is a fairly new AMD system, shouldn't be any 
problems, and I had read somewhere that 2.6 would be better able to support
my new motherboard (NF7).
