Subj : Mandrake 10 install help needed

I've downloaded all three disk for Mandrake 10.0 and installed them on 
my old laptop an IBM T20. I get all the way through until I reach the 
screen that asks if I want to install updates. No matter how I respond 
the computer locks up. I've tried it connected and unconnected I've said 
yes and no. It always fails. I have no problem running the live CD of 
mandrake, Knoppix ect. any Ideas?
