Subj : how to change runlevel at start?

Is there anyone that could give me a hint of how to find instructions for
starting in diffrent runlevels depending on the user that logs in?

The problem is that the kids can't understand the console (they are only 4
and 5 y o) and need to get striaght in to KDE wich they can use, me and my
wife prefer to use the console normally.
