Subj : why ftp and telnet becomes so slow once I changed IP config

I setup a linux pc, which has two nics. Before, all those cards are in
same subnet and with dhcp on, everything looks fine. Today I move the
pc to my lab and configured two static IPs, both are in different
subnet, one is connected to corp. net and the other is connected to
internal test bed network. Then I found all ftp and telnet beomes very
slow, no mather incoming or outgoing telnet and ftp sessions. Anyone
knows why, what should I. I am using Red Had 8.0. thanks
