I just decided to do a small study on how much memory each Window
Manager on my system used.
the amounts of memory usage given here will be different for all
users, but differences should be the same. measusements were taken
with XOSview at time of startup of Window manager

Blackbox    - 123 MB
FVWM        - 132 MB
GNOME       - 216 MB
IceWM       - 120 MB
KDE         - 214 MB
MWM         - 110 MB
Openbox     - 122 MB
TWM         - 123 MB
WindowMaker - 120 MB
XFCE        - 117 MB
failsafe    - 114 MB

IceWM is within my personal comfort zone, so i'm most likely going to
use that for a GUI from now on
