Random lockups and crashes are often the result of bad memory, or memory running beyond its capabilities (are you overclocking?). Windows not loading/installing is a classic indicator. Test your memory (Sybren told you how), and if possible try using a different memory module and/or swapping the sockets. As for your power button, are you sure it's connected to the right pins? Have you tried connecting the reset switch to the soft-power header to see if your power switch is physically broken, rather than the motherboard? Cheers, Minderbinder. .
