Subj : Latest nVidia drivers To : alt.os.linux,aus.computers.linux,comp.os.linux From : Harry Phillips Date : Sat Jul 03 2004 01:45 pm I just downloaded and installed the latest nVidia drivers (6106) for Linux. I have done so on two machines, both are running Mandrake 10.0 Official with all the latest updates. I thought I would check out how they both went. So I ran glxgears on both, the results surprised me. The GeForce 4 MX440 (128M RAM) is getting a score of ~1,700fps The FX5200 (128M of RAM) is only getting a score of ~1,000fps. I thought the scores would really be the other way around. Does anyone know what could be causing the FX5200 to be running slower than the GF4? Or have some suggestions on how to make both go faster? PS. Please don't post a "ha ha, I get 120,000fps on *my* card" response, I really don't care and it doesn't help anyone. Sure, include your boast along with your suggestion but no boast only posts please. -- Regards, Harry Phillips .
