If I remember correctly, one doesn't normally create those links 
manually, but invokes ldconfig which figures out the necessary links. I 
would guess that ldconfig is being run by kickstart after your link are 
made and is reconfiguring them away. Try replacing your pre and post 
scripts with a call to ldconfig and see what happens...
