OK, what's the output of 'lsmod'? Some cards need seperate modules for audio. Have you selected the correct module options for your card? Where you set these options depends on your distribution - perhaps you edit /etc/modules.conf by hand, or use a helper script. You may find help for your particular card on the Video4Linux mailing list - https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/video4linux-list Before posting your questions there, you should check the bttv documentation. I couldn't say exactly where it would be installed for your distribution - you may want to download the source from http://linux.bytesex.org/v4l2/bttv.html and read the docs from the tarball (be sure to get a version that matches your kernel).
