As to emulators, I have Palm Desktop working under VPC/2 with a serial cradle, but since it was bought by Microsoft, they have killed the OS/2 host, and of course there is no Linux host. Have you looked at SVISTA? http://www.serenityvirtual.com/index.php Its a new VM product from Serenity Systems that has Linux, OS/2 and windoze hosts with a planned FreeBSD host. But it isn't free either, but its less expensive then VMWare. Its still in early development, but it works with basic support. I haven't tried Palm Desktop on it yet though. They plan to support USB in a future release which will be nice (VPC/2 has no USB support) as the USB cradle seems to be more robust (less lost connections) then the serial cradle on my Garmin iQue.
