Thanks, I checked the version and got the following: XFree86 Version 4.3.0 (Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 release: 4.3.0-55.EL) Release Date: 15 August 2003 X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0, Release 6.6 Build Operating System: Linux 2.4.21-2.ELsmp i686 [ELF] Build Date: 12 February 2004 So the X server seems to be up to date. I notice however, the build operating system above is different from what I get from uname -a, which is: Linux localhost.localdomain 2.4.21-9.0.3.ELsmp #1 SMP Tue Apr 20 19:44:23 EDT 2004 i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux Was the X server built for the wrong kernel? Regards, Michael .
