I can say that SpiderMonkey has been quite stable for a long time. Unfortunately, the documentation is lacking in many areas. But, there is a rich history of detailed answers to questions on this newsgroup. I imagine that many people are finding their answers by digging through this newsgroup rather than posting new versions of old questions. John.
