Works fine for me in Firefox 1.0.6 and recent trunk on Windows XP on a 
3Ghz Xeon and a 1.7Ghz Pentium M both with 1G RAM. Try a recent Firefox 
nightly and see if that helps. Otherwise it might be a performance issue 
on Linux, a function of how much memory you have available or something 
else. You could try to profile it in Venkman to see where the majority 
of your time is spent.
