MIT, or revised BSD license would be great indeed IMHO, and I think that it would be less controversial (easier for people to understand their rights which are stated in a few simple legal-language statements), while also allowing a great deal of freedom (this can make the difference between being able to use the product in an embedded system or not, for instance, as I often saw BSD used instead of Linux for licencing terms reasons, considering IP protection)... Of course am no authority whatsoever on this matter, but my two cents based on a few GPL vs BSD experiences over time makes be believe it's a great idea.
