Wrong newsgroup therefore cross post to DOM group and followup set to 
that group.
As for the question there is nothing wrong with that snippet of HTML but 
of course you have not shown us the code in menu.js, that might well 
cause script errors. Check the Firefox JavaScript console for error 
messages, if you can't solve that yourself then you need to post more 
details, a URL can be helpful.
