Your question seems geared towards browsers.  If that's the case, try taking
this up in netscape.public.mozilla.dom.

If not, see http://www.mozilla.org/js/spidermonkey for more information.  To
be precise, the source of the script (memory- or file-based) is (AFAIK)
largely irrelevant, except for error reporting.
