Subj : Can you help? - NS 7.01 closing by itself (js problem?)

Javascript apparently has been closing down my Netscape browser 
completely at irregular intervals for no reason that I can identify. The 
only way I have found to prevent the unintended closing of Netscape is 
to disable Javascript for the browser via Preferences/Advanced/Scripts & 
Plug-ins -- but this is NOT satisfactory because Javascript remains 
essential for certain sites.

I don't know why this problem arose. I tried replacing the file prefs.js 
with one I saved a few weeks ago, but the closing problem persists.

NS has suggested that I create a brand new profile, but that's seems 
like a lot of work for potentially little gain. What else can I do? Can 
I fix by editing a js file?
