Unless I'm not understanding what you mean, can't you use the JSVAL_TO_x 
and x_TO_JSVAL macros?  They're all documented in the spidermonkey api 
docs, and convert jsvals to int, bool, jsdouble, JSString *, JSObject *, 
and maybe something else I'm forgetting.  I think there's some stuff for 
void and "constant" types.
