There are a number of perf and footprint bugs I'm going to work on in mozilla1.7. Then there are ideas for a much faster runtime that have been percolating for years, but I'm not sure whether I'll have time to get to them. They wouldn't be easy to do in SpiderMonkey while keeping API compatibility. But first, I have a roadmap update and some "grand planning" to do for Mozilla, so you'll have to stay tuned. /be .
