Subj : What is a "Drop File"?

I hate to bother anyone but I am new to this.  I seem to be getting along well
enough but cannot find the definition of "drop file" anywhere.

I have the stnchronet software and am trying to load Lord 4.x.  I can make it
go in Sysop (local) mode, just not an open application that the BBS can use.
Any help?  Thanks.
