using spidermonkey as a DLL is fine.  or even a lib.  only if you make modifications to their lib or dll, do you have to make the lib or dll changes available.

I am writing a commercial app that I want to make scriptable, and am
considering JavaScript as a possiblity, however; I do not wish to make
the source of my program publicly avaliable, nor make the app free. Is
there an embeddable JavaScript engine implementation that does not
require this, maby public domain ?
