Subj : Rhino and MS JVM (sic) To : netscape.public.mozilla.jseng From : ariel_ml@netvision.net.il (Ariel Malka) Date : Tue Aug 26 2003 07:27 am i need Rhino to also work within explorer (running the original microsoft jvm)! the reason is that the "audience" i'm targetting is the average web-surfer and therefore java 1.1 applets are still the de-facto choice, i guess. anyway, under microsoft jvm: - using a small-footprint js.jar, as far as now, i can execute scripts and receive correct line-numbers in case of errors. - the "only" problem is that i receive all the time "com.ms.security.SecurityExceptionEx" exceptions. - i can't manage to catch them. - these are not fatal exceptions (the applet is still running) but i guess it's not very sane to build on such a situation. - i would like to avoid using signed applets (as an eventual workaround). does anyone have some experience in this area? thanks! .
