Actual error: Access violation at address 009F4B8D.  Write of address
00009FE3.

I used Forest Rankin's code as a template for my own (he posted here about
freeze/thaw about two months ago).  I've ensured that my pointers are
properly initialized, and dereferencers should be fine.

I'll also need a few caffeine pills if I routinely stay up to ungodly hours.
