Not sure if I'm posting this to the right group, but this is an example of 
how the alert function has been implmented in a really annoying focus-
blocking way. I'm using the recent 1.4 release on Win2k and alert() doesn't 
allow me access to the menu. I ended up opening a separate window using a 
Windows shortcut, disabled JS in preferences, then dismissing the latest 
alert to get out of the loop. (I normally use tabbed windows exclusively, 
but the alert blocks me from getting to other tabs.)
