Subj : SpiderMonkey and thread safety To : netscape.public.mozilla.jseng From : "Costas Harizakis" Date : Tue May 13 2003 07:22 pm I am using the engine in a multithreaded environment. However, every single thread is associated with its own Runtime, which is used to create exactly one Context. Does the abovementioned configuration imply that thread safety flags must be enabled during the engine build? I've seen that some functions in jsdtoa.c for example, that compete for the members of a global linked list - the author mentions though that race conditions can only produce memory waste, no crashes though. Are there any other implications, probably more difficult to discover? --harizak .
