i started makeing the changes for unix, but it will take more time than i
thought it would.

any way if you managed to reproduce the same bug with MSVC, then good - is
it really a bad atom?
there's a rwSleep(1000) line in the GC thread, you can give a lower number
or disable that line to make the GC run more rapidly. it usually makes that
program crash sooner - maybe then you'll be able to reproduce with fewer
threads.

i reproduced that with many versions of SpiderMonkey - a couple from the
past 3 months, and one about a year old.
