Subj : The Pit: Resurrection To : alt.bbs.doors From : dperry.geo@yahoo.com (Darryl Perry) Date : Fri Mar 12 2004 07:18 am Ok, I've seen many a post asking for reg codes for ThePit, or author contact information, etc. It's obvious that nobody is getting anywhere with this. It's also obvious that ThePit is a very popular doorgame, and is in much demand. I have thrown down the gauntlet to several times to enterprising doorgame authors to 'recreate' the game since that was going to be the only way to get it "registered". To date, not one single doorgame author has announced any sort of project to do just that. Until now. I have decided to start this project. It's called ThePit:Resurrection. I have a VERY, VERY, VERY alpha version on my BBS, that is playable. Currently, it is only being made for the linux platform, but I expect that it could be ported to other platforms very easily, since it is made for use with the OpenDoors door programming library. The problem I foresee is that I was never a very good player of TP, so I don't know all the ins and outs of the game. So player feedback would be more than welcome. You can play the game on my BBS: Cyberia BBS http://cyberia.darktech.org. Regards, Darryl Perry Sysop of Cyberia BBS cyberia.darktech.org .
