Subj : Acid-X BBS??? To : alt.bbs,alt.bbs.doors,alt.bbs.ads From : "Mike Snyder" Date : Sat Jan 03 2004 02:00 pm Just a heads-up to anybody who may have come across the "Acid-X" BBS ad. I went to check it out, as his ad included a list of door games running "registered" (Lunatix included). I logged in and was confused initially by the mandatory question "are you with law enforcement?" and then discovered why he asked - his door(s) are cracked, not registered. I sent BBS mail with information on how to register Lunatix. I logged in today and his reply was that he paid "5 or 6 years" ago, and that I supposedly cashed his check and never provided a registration code. As this is untrue, I told him so. I then found that my account had been reverted to "no access" to any of the door games. Not a very friendly SysOp, and his reaction IMO was unnecessary. I would think that for a hobby with such a small following these days, there would be more interest in maintaining legitimacy. Am I right in thinking this wasn't a normal experience, and that there are still legit, friendly boards out there? Any recommendations on another telnet-BBS to try - I'd like to find one running Lunatix in particular. Thanks, Mike Snyder Prowler Productions .
