You're correct, the game is run only as a pay-to-play service (not for
sale). One server is still licensed with a copy of the game, but I don't
think they're running it at present.
Browser-based games work far better as either an exclusive service, or as
something freeware/open-source. Selling Lunatix licenses had a long string
of problems. The unfortunate thing with BBS-games-turned-web-games is that
the people doing it aren't getting permission. But that's another discussion
entirely. :)
