My mistake, I thought it was hard coded because I didn't see it for download off the synchro.net website as a seperate package. I am interestted in getting this to work with my bbs package I am using. Could you offer any suggestions on getting it setup? Such as which files I should look for in the synchronet bbs package? Okay, I see that the install package offers different things you can custom install. Question is.. Which is the usenet utility? FEdit or SyncEdit. I am going to investgate more. I am going to install just FEdit, SyncEdit, and SBBSecho. I noticed that on one of the options it has is .js and it futhers to say it might require them to be installed. Going to see. After installing just those I got an error in the self installer. Error executing file. (#1, Line 1). I went to the sbbs\exec directory and noticed that it has what I asked for, but after tring to figure out what does what. I didn't notice something to setup the usenet groups. Going to referance the docs on the website. Okay found my mistake. Will also have to install scfg. Quotting from found text in the docs. I hope this is not for Fidonet only groups. 'The Synchronet configuration program (SCFG) is used for adding, deleting, and configuring message groups and sub-boards.' Looking further I have not notice a refferance to nntp, but looking futher. I noticed this quote, which might be good. 'Import Areas: If you wish to import message area information from a text file, use this option.' Why, because I haven't notice a utility that gets the messages off of usenet. I am totally lost. I have looked for nntp and haven't found something to suggest how to set it up. I search the site for a referance to nntp and usenet and came up with only that it is a plan'd Going to do a full install of the bbs and see what I can come up with. I'll get back to you. If you have some help or suggestions I am open to them. > > >> 3: BBS Listter > > > SynchroNet has this and is Freeware. > > > > Yes, but something not hard coded. > > Synchornet's BBS List is not "hard coded". I see that it also offers to install the Synchronet BBS List, but unfortunally it is a 32-Bit door. I am going to leave this one alone until I can get the nntp working. I wasn't tring to bad mouth synchronet. I think it is a great bbs software package. .
