I'm wondering now if I should have >listened. The one (and only?) good thing about Metropolis GamePort is that they're very professional; I'm pretty sure they'll promptly send you a registration on Tuesday. (GamePort is actually owned by a fleet fuel card company of some sort -- their GamePort BBS stuff is just a small extra thing they do for whatever reason) The main reason why most sysops hate Metropolis GamePort is on account of their tendency to buy up BBS-related products and then shelve them without putting out new versions. They especially hurt the MajorBBS/WorldGroup scene by purchasing around 90% of the games for the platform. In almost all of those cases, they haven't put out new versions; yet they kept the several-hundred-dollar price tags and they agressively shut down boards that pirate their severely-over-priced software. To make matters worse, it seems that they've repeatedly refused offers from independent programmers to license, contract, or port the BBS-related products they own. I think the only exception so far has been for LORD. .
