Hi,

Recently i've been working on a small project which makes use of full
text searching though lots of xml documents. I used lucene (ported to
..net) for that matter but i became really interested to see what goes
on behind the scene of a full text search engine. So i decided i would
make a very simple engine that would just search single or multiple
words in several docs just to get a taste of it and build upon my
knowledge.

I don't have much knowledge about indexing or any other part of a
search engine library, so i wanted to see if anyone here can direct me
to some books or papers where i can learn the basics.
