It's an age-old argument, but I'll throw my vote on the NO TABS side. The basic problem is that tabs are invisible, so it's all too easy for source to end up with a mix of tabs and spaces. Which looks fine until you move to another system with a different tabs setting. I've even encountered a printer that just discarded them, so all the source ended up against the left margin.
