The creationists are getting a lot of traction by painting the ridiculous attempt to return to religious values over science as a "debate" between "equivalent ideas". So I postulate that simply debating abolishment of paid software may be giving a platform to those who advance that idea. Put it this way. You would not go down and debate if the world is or is not going to end tomorrow with a crazy person carrying a sign down on main street. You would just rest happy in the knowledge that nobody is paying attention to them. I do suspect the software lunatics do appreciate the attention. They seem to jump on any thread even remotely related to paid or freeware, or openware, to hijack it to their agenda. It was very sucessful here. This thread didn't start as a debate on software communisim at all. .
