It is a sad fact of our current society that there's more funding for such worthless professions than there is for anything of value, such as writing computer software for novel/new applications. > As for what he accomplished outside that arena, he was and continues to > be a very effective spokesman for many other commercial and non-profit > enterprises amongst other things. Please cite five such enterprises which have actual net value to society or humankind of life-on-earth etc. Advertising for a commercial product by one company, using sports prestege to push sales of that product above an identical product by another company, is good for the first company, bad for the second company, and of no value to society at large, resulting in a positive cancelling a negative plus a zero equalling zero. Cite five of his enterprises where the positives outweigh the negatives to such a high degree that there's no reasonable doubt the enterprise was a positive net global contribution. Danny Thomas used his money (from entertainment) to found a really good hospital. Anything like that would count, as would lesser more direct work towards something beneficial to society/humankind/life globally. For example, did Jerry Rice provide funding to an agency that finds employment, such as computer programming, for disabled people? (My guess: No.) Did Jerry Rice learn Lisp, and then promote it, or use it to develop an interesting application/tool? (My guess: No.) .
