I learned touch typing in high school, long before I ever saw a computer. A couple of years ago I suffered an injury that partially crippled my right hand. I adapted by hunt and pecking with my right while touch typing with my left. I got so good at it that I could go nearly as fast as if I were touch typing with both hands. The full use of my right hand has since been restored, but I sometimes unconsciously lapse back into this hybrid style of typing. JS .
