Here are my $0.02:

- Programming languages have got more declarative with time. I expect
that trend to continue.
  XAML from Microsoft seems to be another step in that direction.

- C#/Java type languages will become more efficient with better JIT
compilers, thus achieving
  performance close to C/C++.

- Seamless integration of databases into programming languages. Direct
support for language
  primitives that allow operations with databases.
