I do not take for granted anyone's level of intelligence.
(insofar as general intelligence exists in the first place - 
I think it's largely mythical).

Assuming something is pink is different to seeing 
something is pink.

"All of us" is something of a distortion, too.

I note that this is speculating that given more information,
Gerry would be capable of more intelligent comment.  
Ignorance != Stupidity.  This is actually saying Gerry
may be hampered by mere lack of information rather
than lack of intelligence.
