They are as reliable, trustworthy, and cost effective as any other group you have never, ever dealt with before. If you think that outsourcing some of your work is useful and cost effective, you need to insure that you have appropriate controls in place to manage it. You cannot simply outsource overnight and even pretend that the first project will be a success. There are groups that I would recommend and those that I would not. It mostly depends on what working relationship you need and are willing to put in place. You will have many of the same problems outsourcing as you would for work-at-home, co-located, branch-office, or foriegn-office groups. I've not worked for a company that had sufficient controls in place to consider outsourcing in a long time. Those that did, eventually saw that for the given quality, timeframe, and results from various vendors were occasionally worth trying. The concept of cheap labor elsewhere is a nice panacea, but your costs are rarely rooted deep within just that area you are probably considering to outsource. There are also additional costs to those you have now that will be needed to insure that both groups achieve the results that were intended. David .
