Subj : Re: i need help To : comp.programming From : Joe Butler Date : Mon Sep 05 2005 01:37 pm The OP apparently posted from India (unless they forged their posting). I won't be appologising for describing my experiences with Indian programmers. If an offshoring company (from India) can sting a client to the tune of $100,000 by re-writing ALL of the client's existing portable code into a single OS-specific version for 'OS B' due to the fact that "Your [portable] code uses 'messages', and 'OS B' uses 'events', therefore, it is not technically possible to use your existing code.", then I feel it necessary to point this out to as many people as possible. By the way, when 'OS C' was targeted (that used 'messages'), the Indians then wrote an interface layer for their non-portable version of the portable code so that it could talk to 'OS C'. Were they simply incompetent, was it a business decision, is there _really_ a difference between messages and events that made it 'impossible' to do - we'll never know. The MD of that company refused to view my demo running on 'OS B' (knocked up in my spare time with the original portable code). Why would he view it, he'd just paid $100,000 for something that I offered to do for $10,000 complete. He probably felt like a total prat. Indians. Would 'cowboys' be more appropriate? This is not really a knock at 'Indians' as people, it's rather that Indian offshoring companies seem to be staffed exclusively by people fresh out of uni. with zero experience, managed by people that don't seem to have a clue. End result: pile of junk that costs far more than the promises said it would. Is this just my unique experience of the situation or is this more widespread? wrote in message news:1125918106.367242.115690@g47g2000cwa.googlegroups.com... > Hello All why this kind of unwanted discussion. > I think the way replies comes should not hurt any one personally. > why there is a discussion on country and why there is a comment on > country. > I hope the person who has asked for that home work may not be from > India and he may be from other country and just make some bad name to > India he would have written this mail.
