A) Just because they say so doesn't make it true B) They say "template", not "standard format" C) They go on to give in other bullets ideas for some specific formats to use D) You want to stand out, but in the negative direction as yours I've seen to date tend to do. I have noted that I see a very similar characteristic w/ another poster in another ng that has mentioned a specific syndrome which I wish I could recall. In general, as is the case w/ this other individual, it appears you have a very difficult time in parsing normal English and discerning intent as opposed to absolute literal wording. In the case of the other poster, he has at least recognized the symptoms as a problem and attempts to utilize it to his benefit. He has one major advantage, apparently of being much younger. I see additonal evidence of symptoms of the problem in the continual mentioning of minutiae in coding languages and very trivial details in coding html or other text preparation tools as a major deal. Having been out of school for almost 40 years, to be attempting to find work in what appears to be an area that many bright high school kids are doing just seems to be futile. That said, I'll retire from further long-distance attempts at psychology, etc., and try to stick to the actual response. > > Why have you been unemployed for 10 years? > > Because was unemployed ten years ago, and nobody changed that status > quo by hiring me since then. But that's evading the question and isn't really the question at all. you have not addressed here the fundamental "why" on a personal introspection basis and I suspect haven't actually done so in a self-critical assessment at all. The superficial answers aren't going to help. And I don't mean for you to post more details of your life on an open usenet group--I mean for you to consider this yourself and try to make changes that will help get you out of the quandary you're in. .
