Who would have thought the lockpick lobby was so strong?  I 
shouldn't have to hire a locksmith to attempt entry to 
something.  As is, it might be the only practical solution.

That is actually quite incorrect, at least in the US, where 
there are very high number (and widely variable from state to 
state) set of restrictions on firearms.  Convicted felons, who 
are not in prison, may not own them for the rest of their lives. 
Even if their felony was violating some copyright law.
