Yes, it's a terrible inconvenience, having all those independent countries 
to which people might flee if they are oppressed by their governments. Far 
simpler to have one colossal government. Then we can build the oppression 
right in.

Please note that the first world government election will almost certainly 
be won by China. Or, conceivably, India.

There would not be a second election.
